The largest meeting of BC elected officials is going on right now in Whistler - the annual Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) convention. Lots of interesting issues are being discussed: RCMP policing contracts, the length of term for city councils, the HST and much more. You can read a bunch of coverage from Google News.
Kamloops Councillor Marg Spina is running for a position on the UBCM board of directors. I wish her success. We should find out later today I believe. Also, tomorrow is Premier Campbell's big speech - usually he makes some big announcements. His tone might be a little different this year, with all the HST stuff going on.
