Over some cool and caffeinated drinks yesterday, we had a great discussion on how to build on the work Kamloops City Hall did this year in seeking citizen input on the community budget. A couple of key ideas that arose (out of many) were to make information accessible early, to ask people a simple question (again very early in the annual budget process) such as how do you see the city could save money, and to outreach to harder to reach segments of the community for their thoughts and questions.
