- Progress with the Sustainable Kamloops Plan, my Priorities: Given the great ambition and impact of the plan’s recommendations, I am largely satisfied with our progress implementing the Sustainable Kamloops Plan. I am open to working faster. My top three priority areas within the plan are air quality, climate change adaption and mitigation, and land use.
- Personal & Volunteer Efforts: I raised the issue of sustainability at the 2006 City Council strategic planning retreat and, with the participation of other councillors, we decided to embark on the sustainability plan. I am a transit user and advocate. I have volunteered my time to help with various BCSEA activities.
- Transportation: There are many benefits to walking, bicycle, and taking transit. I would promote not only the environmental benefits, but also the health, financial, and social benefits. I would also promote neighbourhood developments that make it easier to walk, bike, or take transit back and forth to work or shopping.
- Community GHG: I would continue to engage the community on the best ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We need everyone’s ideas. I would continue to promote more density and alternate means of transportation. I would start learning more about how we could promote electric and other alternate fueled vehicles.
